Indonesian curfew-breaker banned for six months

JAKARTA, July 25 (Reuters) Indonesia striker Zaenal Arif has been hit with a six-month ban from soccer following his late-night Asian Cup escapades.

Zaenal was dropped from the national team before Indonesia's final group game against South Korea after he broke a 10 pm curfew.

Indonesia lost the game 1-0 and were eliminated from the tournament The forward, who initially said he had returned to the team hotel at 11 pm, later admitted to a disciplinary hearing he had actually been out until 2:30 am.

''Zaenal Arif broke curfew, which caused an inconvenience for the whole team,'' news agency Antara quoted Hinca Pandjaitan, the head of Indonesia soccer association's disciplinary body, as saying.
