Arvind Virmani appointed Chief Economic Adviser to Finance Min
New Delhi, JulY 13 (UNI) Dr Arvind Virmani, presently working as Principal Adviser in the Planning Commission, has been appointed Chief Economic Adviser to Finance Ministry's Economic Affairs Department.
He succeeds Mr Ashok Lahiri, who lay down office today after five years of service and takes over as India's Executive Director on the board of Asian Development Bank.
The Appointment Committee of the cabinet approved Dr Virmani's appointment, an official statement said here today.
