Amarnath yatri dies, toll reaches 6
Srinagar, July 4: A pilgrim from Delhi Atul Rukhar died at Sheshnag early this morning, official sources said.
With this a total of six pilgrims and a local ponywalla have died and eleven others wounded during past two weeks.
They said Atul complained breathlessness at Sheshnag on Pahalgam- Cave route early this morning. However, he died before he could be shifted to hospital.
A 45-year-old Verinder Tripathi, resident of UP, died at Brarimarg on Baltal- cave route on July 2.
A woman pilgrim from Assam was killed and eleven others were injured due to shooting of stones near the Amarnath cave shrine yesterday.
