Mumbai, June 21 (UNI) Metal prices fell due to sustained heavy selling pressure, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In the ferrous section, copper utensils and aluminium utensils eased by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal because of thin buying support.

In the non-ferrous category, copper wire bars and aluminium ingot declined by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal due to sluggish demand by bulk consumers. zinc slab edged up by Rs 100 per quintal on leser stock supply.

Nickel cathode was down by Rs 50 per kg on lack of demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,000, Copper utensils - Rs 31,100, Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,300.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,300, Aluminium ingots - Rs 13,500, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,100, Lead ingots - Rs 10,000, Tin slab - Rs 709 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,800 (per kg).
