Faizabad, May 28 (UNI) Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Mitrasen Yadav today surrendered before a local court here in connection with an attack on the witness of Bhavanipher Yadav murder case of 1996.

The MP, whose name was also dragged in the controversial human trafficking case unearthed recently, was sent to jail under judicial custody by the chief judical magistrate.

Mr Mitrasen Yadav and his minister son Anand Sen Yadav, the BSP MLA from Milkipur, are co-accused in the attack on Omprakash Yadav, nephew of Bhavanipher Yadav, in 1999, who was the key-witness in the murder case.

In 1999, Omprakash Yadav was attached by some henchmen when he was returning after recording his statement in the local court over the murder of his uncle Bhavanipher Yadav in 1996.

A non-bailable warrant was pending against the MP and his son after the court took cognizance of the incident.

However, Anand Sen Yadav surrendered before the assembly poll and even remained in jail for quite some time. Later, he was released on bail and took oath of the minister in the Mayawati ministry last week.

Recently, Delhi Crime Branch had interrogated Mr Mitrasen Yadav in the human trafficking case after a BJP MP Babu Bhai Katara was caught red handed while travelling with another women to Canada on his wife's passport.
