Angul, May 22 (UNI) Hundreds of contractual workers engaged in 3000MW NTPC-Kaniha plant will go on cease work agitation indefinitely from May 25 demanding rationalisation of their daily wage structure to bring at par with the regular workers.

All India Power Men's Federation General Secretary Samar Sinha described the wages for contractual workers at Kaniha as one of the lowest among NTPC plants in the country.

He said all the contractual workers engaged in and outside of the NTPC plant were entitled for equal pay for equal works adding that there was no point of giving a paltry Rs 55 to the contractual workers and at the same time Rs 270 to regular workers for the same nature of works.

Over 2650 contractual workers were working in the power plant which provides power to as many seventeen states.
