Man beats daughter to death

Kanpur, May 22 (UNI) In a horrendous incident, a man, under the influence of an exorcist, beat his daughter to death in Bithur area here today.

According to police, Ramsri of Nidhauri village had fallen ill and was undergoing treatment at Rama Dental Hospital for quiet some time but in vain.

After being fed up of her prolonged illness, she tried to commit suicide but was saved.

Superstitious villagers suggested Lalman to get Ramsri treated from an exorcist.

Lalman took her to the exorcist's place where she was beaten black and blue as part of the treatment by her father.

Ramsri succumbed to her wounds today morning, police added.

A case has been registered in this regard.
