Jaish district commander among 5 militants killed in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 22 (UNI) A self-styled District Commander (DC) of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) was among five militants killed in the Kashmir valley today.

A police spokesman said on specific information Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and 62 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) launched a joint operaion at Chak Matrigam Pulwama today. During the operation, militants opened fire and in the return fire by RR and SOG two militants were killed.

A cordon and search operation was launched by RR and SOG in village Kesrigam, Kakapora, in south Kashmir early this morning following a tip-off that two militants were hiding there, Assistant Superintendent of Police, Pulwama Abdul Qayoum said.
