Interim relief to Mauseena Parkar till tomorrow

Mumbai, May 22 (UNI) A local court today granted interim relief to Haseena Parkar, youngest sister of fugitive don Dawood Ibrahim, till it reassembles tomorrow to hear her anticipatory bail application in a Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) project dispute case.

Parkar, clad in burqa, appeared before acting principal Judge D N Deshpande along with four other women to hide her identification from mediapersons.

Judge Deshpande directed Parkar, who was absconding since april 21, not to move out of the present address given in the application.

He further directed local police to keep surveillance near Gourda Villa building at Nagpada in southcentral Mumbai.

The Judge also directed police not to arrest her till 1100 hrs tomorrow.

Earlier, Parkar's Advocate Shyam Keshwani told Judge Deshpande that his client wished to appear before the court to file an anticipatory bail application, which was granted.

When the matter came up for hearing in the afternoon, Judge Deshpande asked Advocate Keshwani his client's whereabouts. Keshwani told the court that he would bring her before the court within two hours. Accordingly, Parkar came in the court at the fag end.

Parkar's name figures in the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) on April 21 this year with respect to a SRA scheme dispute.
