Patna, May 22 (UNI) With a view to revive the lost glory of the ancient seat of learning which once attracted scholars and researchers from all over the world, a university-cum-research centre of international standards would be set up at Nalanda.

The rules on the structure of the proposed university provided for, among others, the inclusion of representatives of donors from abroad in the ''assembly'' of the research-cum-teaching institute, thus giving it an international flavour.

According to official sources, the ''assembly'' would comprise the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, members of the Executive Council, Deans of various faculties, Finance Officer, Controller of examinations, librarians and heads of autonomous institutions of the university.

The assembly would also include one representative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development and two representatives of the state government.

Other members of the assembly would include four nominees of the Academic Council on seniority basis on rotation and two elected or nominated students representing senior and junior groups.

The tenure of the assembly members would be three years and it would meet on a day fixed by the Executive Council to discuss the annual budget of the university.

The Quorum of the assembly would be of 15 members, the sources added.
