New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Global communications software company Aricent today entered into a R&D collaboration with Nokia Siemens Networks to provide product development, feature enhancement, sustenance and maintenance services for its 2G base station products.
Under the agreement, the company will set up a software development centre in Southwood, UK to serve the needs of Nokia Siemens Networks and will employ over 100 software professionals with extensive wireless domain knowledge in GSM and EDGE technologies.
In addition, it will hire over 900 people at locations in Germany, Ukraine and the UK.
''The new development centre truly enhances our depth and breadth as a communications software company,'' company's President and Chief Operating Officer Manoranjan Mohapatra said.
The UK centre will give Aricent a large development presence in a third European location and will allow to strengthen our cooperation with Nokia Siemens Networks, Mr Mohapatra added.
