Lucknow, May 12:  Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati snared amagnificent victory by winning an absolute majority in the UttarPradesh assembly polls, bringing to an end the 14-year-old era ofcoalition politics in the most populous state of the country.

Javed Ansari (SP) declared elected from Jaunpur assembly constituency(238) defeating his nearest rival Tej Bahadur Maurya (BSP) by 6,858votes. SP wrests the seat from BJP.

Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya (Independent) declared electedfrom Kunda assembly constituency (98) defeating his nearest rival ShivPrakash Mishra (BSP) by 53,128 votes. Raja Bhaiyya retains the seat.

Mukhtar Ansari (Independent) declared elected from Mau assemblyconstituency (204) defeating his nearest rival Vijay Pratap (BSP) by7,018 votes. He retains the seat.
