Mulayam concedes defeat; to put in papers in evening
Lucknow, May 11 (UNI) Taking the onus for the Samajwadi Party's ''debacle'' in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today said he would hand over his resignation to Governor T V Rajeswar this evening.
Mr Yadav said he was assessing the results and would call on the Governor this evening.
Though Mr Yadav has not sought any appointment with the Governor as yet, Raj Bhawan sources said he would be asked to carry untill an alternative arrangement was made.
Incidentally, May 14 is the deadline for government formation in the state.
Yesterday, the Chief Minister had alleged that the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre had deliberately given only two days for the formation of government which was too short a period for the purpose.
