Coalition Govt would complete full term: Kumaraswamy

Mysore, May 6: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today expressed confidence that Janata Dal (Secular) and Bharatiya Janata Party coalition government will complete its full term.

Alleging that the opposition party indulging in spreading rumors about stability of the coalition government, Mr Kumaraswamy said, " The coalition government is not only stable, but the transfer of Chief Ministership to BJP will be a smooth affair." Speaking after inaugurating Rs 12.6 Crore Melapura Stage II Drinking Water Project near here, he said that the government's main concern at present was development.

Stating that the coalition government had been striving to uplift the poor and downtrodden by introducing various welfare schemes, Mr Kumaraswamy said that his village stay was one among the programs undertaken to learn about actual problems of the rural people and take steps to solve them immediately.

Referring to loan waiver, Mr Kumaraswamy said that his government had fulfilled its commitment on the issue and appealed to the farmers not to commit suicide, but take advantage of welfare schemes and improve their living condition.

Saying that the coailition was committed to come to the rescue of sugar cane farmers, he asked the farmers in the Cauvery belt to take their cane to the sugar factory in his Ramanagaram constituency.

"Your sugarcane will be bought and you also get a subsidy of Rs 150 per tonne," he said.
