Mumbai, Apr 18: The prosecution today filed a six-page supplementary &13;chargesheet in the trial court against Praveen Mahajan who stands accused of &13;murdering his elder brother and BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.
Special public prosecutor Ujwal Nikam filed the supplementary chargesheet and &13;also submitted documents pertaining to Praveen's Reliance mobile phone, and the &13;statement of Reliance officers and police officers, in the court of additional &13;sessions judge S P Davare.
Adv Nikam said the supplementary chargesheet is with respect to the fresh &13;material that has come out during the examination of the witnesses, including &13;Pramod Mahajan's widow Rekha.
During her examination, Ms Mahajan had told the court that few days before her &13;husband was shot at, Praveen had come to their residence and demanded Rs one &13;crore from Pramod Mahajan.
Bharatiya Janata Party general secretary Gopinath Munde, during his &13;deposition, had stated that Pramod Mahajan had informed him over the phone of a &13;threatening SMS message that he had received from Praveen. The SMS had read, &13;''Aab yachana nahi, ran hoga. Jeevan vijay ke saath ya phir maran hoga (There &13;will be no pain now, but a battle. There will either victory or death)''.
These fresh material had not come on record during the investigations, and, &13;so, a supplementary chargesheet had to be filed, Adv Nikam said.
Meanwhile, the cross-examination of Mr Munde will be conducted on April 24.
On the last occasion, the prosecution had submitted eight additional &13;documents, including a supplementary statement by Pramod Mahajan's daughter &13;Poonam, mobile phone of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, ''panchanama'' and &13;other material.
