Jabalpur, Apr 18 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today struck down two main charges in a case pertaining to a plea challenging Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's election in last year's Budhni assembly bypoll.
Justice Aryendra Kumar Saksena dismissed the charge that Mr Chouhan contested the hustings while occupying the office of profit of Chief Minister. The second charge was that Budhni was supplied power round-the-clock despite an outages schedule being in force.
Hearings would continue on other charges.
The petition was filed by vanquished Congress nominee Rajkumar Patel who also alleged misuse of administrative machinery.
