CA arrested after wife commits suicide due to dowry

New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) A 25-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself in Mayur Vihar area of East Delhi this afternoon allegedly due to dowry harassment.

After allegations of dowry harassment, police arrested her husband Sumit, a Chartered Accountant, according to sources.

Married in April 2004, Manisha reportedly hanged herself from the ceiling fan at about 1500 hrs at her rented Mayur Vihar Phase I Nirman Apartments.

She left behind three suicide notes -- one each in the name of her husband, father Ajay (a coal trader) and the police.

Taking total responsibility for her extreme step, she said no one should be harassed and she loved her husband Sumit very much but since she could not live away from him she was taking her life.

An SDM enquiry has been ordered, said the police.
