New Delhi, Apr 18 (UNI) Alleging that the BSP was poisoning the atmosphere through its castiest campaign in the UP assembly elections, the BJP today referred to a booklet issued by the BSP's central office making derogatory referances about Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Yadavas, Baniyas and Muslims and demanded that the Election Commission take suo motu cognisance of it.

Talking to newspersons, BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar said the booklet had been given to BSP workers for Rs 5 donation.

It was nothing but blatant caste-politics, he said and demanded that the Election Commission take immediate notice of it and take appropriate action in the matter.

In the booklet, the BSP had criticised Brahims, Kshatriyas, Yadavas and Baniyas for exploiting the backward classes but justified distribution of tickets to them as necessary to come to power.

The BSP described Muslims as fundamentalist, saying a fundamentalist always liked the other fundamentalist. Their support was also necessary for coming to power, Mr Javadekar said.

The booklet also did not spare the media, advising the cadre not to talk to the press about this booklet as it was full of ''manuwadi'' and mediamen always carry hidden cameras with them.
