Bathinda bowled out for 83 runs in Punjab inter district

By Staff

Patiala, Apr 18 (UNI) Bathinda were bowled out for a paltry 83 runs through penetrative bowling by the Patiala bowlers in the Sushil Bali Punjab Inter-District Under-15 Cricket Tournament here today at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium.

Patiala won the toss and elected to field first. The match started about three hours late due to gale and light shower which disrupted the playing conditions.

Bathinda batsmen fell like nine pins against some hostile bowling by Sandeep Sharma who bagged 4 wickets, giving away 36 runs.

Karan Kaila was a perfect foil to Sharma, capturing 3 wickets for just 7 runs. Anshul was the only Bathinda batsman who played with some confidence, scoring 31 not out.

In reply, Patiala were 10 for no loss when the freak weather disrupted the play and it was called off by the umpires. Vikram Aditya and Kamal Bansal were unbeaten on 4 and 5 respectively in 5.2 overs. The two-day match will continue tomorrow.
