3 months' imprisonment for hurling slipper at judge

Gwalior, Apr 18 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court's Gwalior Bench has sentenced a murder accused to three months' imprisonment and fined him Rs 1,000 for hurling slipper targetting a special court judge.

According to prosecution, accused constable Jagmohan had hurled his slipper on Additional Sessions Judge R K Mahajan on January 19 after he was awarded sentence in a murder case.

In this regard, the court transferred the contempt of court case to the High Court's division bench of Justice A K Gohil and Justice S A Naqvi.

Jagmohan admitted before the High Court that he lost his temper and threw slippers due to mental tension. He sought unconditional apology but the court rejected it saying his behavior tantamounted to rowdyism and disregard to the court.
