Kalam honoured with Crown Medallion

New Delhi, Mar 29 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam was today conferred upon the Award of Crane Summit Supreme Honor Crown Medallion in recognition of his contribution to literature and poetry.

Dr Kalam was honoured by Dr Yu Hsi, Patron of the US World Academy of Arts and Culture and World Congress of Poets and Founder and Chairman of the Crane Summit 21st Century International Forum, at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The President has also been presented a Chinese Royal Calligraphy Scroll and a poetry and music book on "An Inter-centurial Fire Phoenix" and a newly published bilingual poetry book "Wings of Fire, Profile and Poems of Dr. Abdul Kalam, President of India".

The President's books have been edited and translated into Chinese by a noted Taiwanese poet and journalist Dr. Maurus Young, Secretary General of World Academy of Arts.
