Sees progress on new Iran sanctions: US official
Washington, Mar 2: Major powers made progress on agreeing on new sanctions on Iran and hope to have their UN ambassadors begin drafting a formal UN Security Council resolution next week, a senior US official said.
The official told Reuters that political directors representing the United States, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany ''were able to resolve most of the issues'' in a two-hour conference call yesterday and hoped to complete their deliberations in another conference call tomorrow.
