Margao, Feb 12 (UNI) The stage is all set for the third One-Day International cricket match between India and Sri Lanka at Nehru stadium, Fatorda in South Goa on February 14.
Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) Executive Director Mr Vasant Prabhu Desai said no stone had been left unturned to meet the requirements of the organisers, Goa Cricket Association, at the stadium to make the ODI match a success.
Besides three main pitches, six practice pitches have been prepared. Four of them will be exclusively for batsmen and other two for bowlers. 16 security cameras worth Rs 30 lakh have been placed at the stadium. The main pitch and outfield have been elevated to international standard, said Desai.
Mr Suryakant Naik, who had prepared the wicket, said, ''It is good and firm wicket and expect plus 250 runs. It will also assist bowlers.'' Except officials and players, no one will be allowed to meander around the practice area during the net session. Even media persons and photographers will be barricade from the team and allowed to observe the net practice from across the fence according to the new ICC ruling for International one-day, Test fixtures.
Both India and Sri Lanka teams will arrive in Goa today.
