Security tightened in Puducherry

Puducherry, Jan 19 (UNI) Security has been tightened here in view of the visit of Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil's visit tomorrow.

According to an official release Mr Patil, along with Minister of state for Home S Raghupathy, will be visiting Puducherry to review the tsunami rehabilitation work.

After arriving at the Ouppalam helipad at 1115 hrs, the Ministers would leave for Moorthy Pudukuppam after inspecting a guard of honour, the release added.

At Moorthy Pudukuppam they would review the progress of the tsunami reconstruction works.

Later, they would visit Veerampatinam to watch a brief presentation of construction activities being carried out by the Maharashtra government.

A meeting with the Lt Governor and Chief Minister is also scheduled before they leave for Chennai at 1500 hours.
