Kerala to file affidavit on Mullaperiyar issue before SC

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 19 (UNI) Kerala would file a detailed affidavit on Mullaperiyar issue before the Supreme Court in the wake of Tamil Nadu filing a separate petition and affidavit on the issue in the apex court.

A decision in this regard was taken at a high-level meeting of Irrigation and Electricity officals, State Water Resources Minister N K Premachandran told reporters here today.

The state would reiterate its demand for constructing a new dam in place of the century-old dam at Mullaperiyar.

The state would also inform the court about the details of the earlier talks it had with the Government of Tamil Nadu.
