New Delhi, Jan 18 (UNI) A new nature and environment series 'Earth Matters' will be telecast by Doordarshan from February four.
Made by internationally renowned filmmaker and conservationist Mike Pandey, who is the only Indian to have won three Green Oscars in addition to a host of prestigious International and NationalAwards, the programme will be aired on Sundays at 1100 hrs on DD National (DD-1).
The series has been shot using the latest speciality equipments and after extensive research across India.
Earth Matters will take the viewer on a journey across India looking at some of the biggest issues that are facing the planet and the human race at the same time looking at the many wonders that nature has.
The series brings the viewer closer to nature increasing their understanding of delicate balance that exists within it. It looks at the recent destruction and also looks at ways to help protect and conserve the natural world for future generations.
In an attempt to make the programming informative and educational, Earth Matters focuses on contemporary issues and covers wide range of subjects from the underwater world of corals and exploring the marine life to a look at the endangered species including the tiger.
It also has public interest programmes on health issues, environment and wildlife aimed at sensitizing people at the grass root levels on how their actions can make a positive difference.
