ANVC cadre surrenders to police

Shillong, Jan 18 (UNI) A cadre of the banned A'chik National Volunteers Council militant outfit operating in Meghalaya has surrendered before the police yesterday Police sources today said the 20-year-old cadre surrendered before Willianagar police station in the state's East Garo Hills district, police said.

The cadre had deserted the ANVC Chokpot designated camp last year and deposited several incriminating documents.

Meanwhile, the surrendered militant is being interrogated by the police.
