Top US schools visit Infosys

Bangalore, Jan 6: Students and Officials of two top US Schoolsvisited the campus of software major Infosys Technologies Limited on asingle day to understand and learn what it takes to succeed in aglobally connected world.

India is today emerging as an important learning economy for thebest business and engineering schools the world over. The valueproposition offered by companies like Infosys was actively being soughtby students and academicians alike. The learning spanned successstories in the areas of technology, management, emerging markets ethos,corporate social responsibility and entrepreneurship among othersInfosys said in a release here today.

Commenting during the interactions at the Infosys campus, CornellUniversity President David Skorton said, "expanding the vibrantpartnership Cornell's enjoys with academic and other institutions inIndia is essential to our aspirations. As the new president of CornellUniversity, my first priority is to explore with India 's leaders,government, business, research and the academy which new areas offerthe greatest potential for collaboration among our faculty andopportunity for our students".

Mr. N.R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman of the Board and Chief Mentor,Infosys Technologies and Mrs. Sudha Murty, Chairperson, InfosysFoundation interacted with the students from Stanford GSB. Theinteractions allowed the faculty members and students to gain exposureto the 'new world' and understand what it takes to work and succeed ina globally connected world. The discussion also touched uponentrepreneurship in India and its prospects. Mrs. Murty spoke to thegroup on the importance of imbibing a strong value system that canguide them in their chosen career path.

Students from the Stanford GSB said they benefited from theinteractions with Infosys since, as global managers in the making, theyappreciate the opportunity to learn from the pioneers of the GlobalDelivery Model.
