Karnataka to launch Insurance scheme for Sheep
Gulbarga, Jan 1 (UNI) Karnataka would become the first State in the Country to introduce insurance scheme for Sheep when Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa launches the scheme on January four, Minister for Animal Husbandry Revu Naik said today.
Talking to newsmen here, he said that the scheme would cover Nine Lakh Sheep in the State.
Under the Scheme, if a sheep dies, the Shepherd would get Rs 1500. A Shepherd has to pay Rs 10 towards premium and the government would pay Rs 57 towards the balance premium.
