India's reaction to Saddam's execution not upto mark: NPP

New Delhi, Jan 1 (UNI) The National Panthers Party (NPP) which had an agreement with Saddam Hussein's Ba'th Party, today expressed displeasure at New Delhi's reaction to the deposed Iraqi President's ''pre-medidated and well-planned'' execution and accused the US President George Bush of violating his country's constitution.

NPP chief Bhim Singh said at a press conference here that the so-called trial of Saddam Hussein was also ''farce and fraud on the rule of law'' and his hanging was carried out by the US military personnel who had been trained for four months.

''The government's response was not upto the mark...''he said.

After Saddam Hussein was hanged, India had expressed ''disappointment'' and had hoped that the hanging would not hamper the process of peace in Iraq.

Mr Bhim Singh, a lawyer who had volunteered to fight the case of the deposed Iraqi President during his trial, said the US President had not only assaulted the principles of natural justice but had also ''brutalised'' criminal jurisprudence recognised by the 14th amendment to the US Constitution.

The NPP and the Arab Ba'th Socialist Party had signed an 'Agreement of Cooperation' in Baghdad on March 13, 1997, for promoting and developing relations on the basis of mutual understanding of the principles of independence and equality.
