Hyderabad, Jan 1 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today reiterated that the government would construct houses and provide house sites to all the poor people in the state.
In an informal chat with reporters on the occasion of new year, he said the government would construct houses and give them to the poor people in the next three years.
During the last two and a half years, the government had constructed 20 lakh houses, he informed.
On the occupation of government land by the people at Visakhapatnam, demanding house sites on the land, Dr Reddy said it was improper to encroach upon government lands.
Stating that government had provided Rs 500 crore for acquisition of lands to provide house sites to the poor, he said occupation of government land by force was not good. 'We should follow some rules.' UNI
