Northern Command bids farewell to Lt Gen Deepak Kapoor

Jammu, Dec 31 (UNI) The Northern Command today bid a fond farewell to its Chief Lt-Gen Deepak Kapoor, who is proceeding to Delhi to take over as Vice Chief of Army Staff tomorrow.

The General paid homage to the martyrs by laying wreath at the Dhruva War Memorial in the morning. He was pulled out by his officers in a colourfully decorated deep, after which he inspected an Immaculately- turned out guard of Honour.

Commissioner into the Regiment of Artillery, he commanded infantry Brigade on the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir and was awarded Sena Medal for his devotion to duty.

Expressing complete satisfaction with respect to the operational capability of the command, Lt Gen Kapoor commended all officers and other ranks jawans for the good work that is being dons in the command and extolled them to continue the same in the future.

Nothing that his primary concern was to usher normalcy in the trouble torn state of Jammu and Kashmir, he said he was happy to note that situation was well on the way to achieve his desired objective and vision.

He wished All Ranks of the command the very best for the future.
