Gov, CM greet people on New Year, Id-ul-Zuha
Hyderabad, Dec 31 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Governor Rameshwar Thakur and Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today greeted the people of the state on the occasion of the New Year and Id-ul-Zuha.
''Let us resolve to make our state a progressive, prosperous and technologically-advanced state of the nation. Let peace, harmony and amity prevail among all sections of the society. Let us strive to build a knowledge society and usher in greater social justice,'' the Governor in his message said.
Mr Thakur also greeted the Muslim community on the occasion of Id-ul-Zuha tomorrow.
He said Id-ul-Zuha signifies the essential unity of the entire human race and the sublime values of self-sacrifice and universal brotherhood.
The Chief Minister, in his message, while extending warm gereetings to Muslims, hoped that Id-ul-Zuha would be celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety.
He said the festival symbolising a sense of self-sacrifice would strengthen the bond of love, compassion and mutual understanding among the people and bring new cheer and prosperity in their lives.
