Shimla, Dec 31 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh BJP chief and Rajya Sabha MP Suresh Bhardwaj today said the BJP, if voted to power, would make amendments in the government employees service manual so that they could take part in RSS functions.
He termed the RSS as a social and cultural organisation adding that the state government was harassing government employees under this clause. He further cited the example of Madhya Pradesh government, where no such ban exists.
Addressing mediapersons here, he termed the year 2006 as a black chapter for the Congress government and alleged that corruption and scams were the order of the day. Developmental works had come to a standstill, he added.
Mr Bhardwaj said his party had submitted a chargesheet to the Governor alleging the state government of scams in the Irrigation and Public Health department and also suspension of ADGP B S Thind.
He also demanded a CBI inquiry in these issues.
The state BJP chief said the Congress government always tried to shield ADGP Thind and State Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh was protecting the Vice-Chancellor in the CPMT leak issue by granting him extension. Land mafia had taken roots in Barotiwala and Kala Amb with the connivance of Congress politicians, he added.
Mr Bhardwaj termed the performance of Virbhadra Singh's regime as lackluster in developmental works and said the state government could not manage any economic package from the Centre and had failed to curb the price rise. The Public Distribution System in the state had collapsed and ration under the 'Antyodya scheme' had been curtailed, he added.
He castigated the government for forcibly taking agricultural land from the farmers for hydro-power and industrial projects and said it would have to face the consequences. ''I have taken up the matter of setting up a Central University in Dharamsala with the Central government and the Virbhadra Singh government should also pursue this matter earnestly,'' he added.
