Bihar; 40 feared killed as bus falls into Ganga
Hajipur (Bihar), Dec 30: At least 40 people were feared killed when a private bus jumped the rallings of Mahatma Gandhi Setu over the Ganga and plunged into the river early today.
Official reports said the bus was on its way to Patna from Hajipur and the driver lost control of the vehicle due to thick fog.
The accident occurred near the rier no. 8 of the bridge and fell 80 feet below from the surface of the bridge.
Police and civil officials rushed to the scene and a rescue operation was on, sources said, adding details were awaited.
