In India, Western Union operates through 8,500 post offices of India Post, with which it has a partnership since April 2001.

''Having an agent representative like India Post, with an extensive network fo 1,56,000 post offices, allows Western Union to serve our customers even in remote corners of this vast country,'' Mr McDermott added.
