Jamshedpur, Nov 12 (UNI) In the wake of the growing demand of steel in the automotive sector, steel major Tata Steel in association with Indian Institute of Metals (IIM) will organise an international symposium on ''Steels for Automotives'' here tomorrow followed by National Metallurogists' Day (NMD) and Annual Technical Meeting (ATM) celebrations on November 14.
Convenor of National Organising Commitee NMD-ATM 2006 H.M.Nerurkar told reporters here today about 1,000 delegations from all over the country and the overseas would take part in the celebrations.
He said the celebrations would be inaugurated by minister of state for steel Akhilesh Das while Tata Steel managing director and IIM president B.Muthuraman would deliver presidential address.
Mr Nerurkar said more than 500 papers from Industries, Research Institutions and Education departments would be submitted in three-day celebrations.
He said a special session called ''Reminicscences'' would be held, where two metallurgists each from industry, research and education would speak about their contributions and vision of IIM.
