MADRID, Nov 12 (Reuters) Lisa Raymond and Samantha Stosur retained their doubles title at the WTA Championships when they came from a set down to beat Cara Black and Rennae Stubbs 3-6 6-3 6-3 today.

In a repeat of last year's final, the American-Australian pair took their time to warm to the task, but eventually broke the resistance of their Zimbabwean-Australian opponents to take their 10th title this year.

The pair became the fifth team to make a successful defence of their Championships title but the first since 2000 when Martina Hingis and Anna Kournikova achieved the feat.

The victory also ensured that they will end the year as the number one women's doubles players.
