Modi urges Gujarati youth to join defence forces

Ahmedabad, Nov 12 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today urged the State youth to join the defence forces in large numbers to ''serve the motherland and maintain the nation's integrity and unity''.

The youth here have greater responsibilities since Gujarat is a border state, Mr Modi said while speaking at the air show organised by the Indian Air Force here. The air show was organised to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of the IAF.

On the occasion, of thousands of school children, among others, witnessed the grand display of valour and precision of judgment by the fighter pilots.

The response to the air show was so huge that the city faced its biggest traffic jam ever that lasted for over three hours. Police have estimated that over two lakh people were present to watch the show.
