Aizawl Nov 12 (UNI) Mizoram Health Minister R Tlanghmingthanga denied allegations of his involvement in illegal drug deal which has rocked the administration.

Talking to the mediapersons here, the minister said he was willing to vacate his office if he fails to discharge his duties and responsibilities properly.

Reacting to the allegation about the restoration of licence of a drug's store through his initiative he said, ''I am no way involved in protecting illegal drugs and its sellers.'' Allegedly, Excise officials had recovered a huge consignment of prohibited cough syrups from a medical shop in the town and had cancelled the licence. But the licence was restored by the Health Minister's intervention.

''If we cannot do our jobs, there is nothing else to do but resign. If needed, the health director will also resign along with me'', Mr Tlanghmingthanga said.
