New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) A 32-year-old man allegedly strangled his wife in Uttam Nagar area of West Delhi this afternoon following an argument over his drinking habit.
Bal Krishan, who worked as an auto driver, allegedly strangled his wife Poonam (26) with her 'chunni' at his Om Vihar in Uttam Nagar residence at about 1300 hrs, according to sources.
The incident took place before their six-year-old son Mohit, who later told the police that his parents had an argument over his coming home in a drunken state, following which his father killed his mother in a fit of rage.
The accused later fled from the house.
Neighbours said the couple, who had been married for the last eight years, would often have arguments over Krishan's drinking habit.
Police said search was on for the accused.
