IAF motorcycle expedition arrives at Chandigarh

Chandigarh, Nov 12 (UNI) The motorcycle expedition of the Indian Air Force (IAF) arrived at the air force station here today and was flagged-in by Air Commodore T N Venugopal, Air Officer Commanding, 12 Wing AF.

The Air Force personnel welcomed the members of the expedition.

The expedition is a part of IAF Platinum Jubilee celebrations organised by the adventure cell of HQ Western Air Command. The expedition was flagged off from India Gate at New Delhi on November 11. It will cover 4800 km in 15 days.

The expedition team will reach New Delhi on November 25 after completion of its target route Gorakpur, Gangtok, Darjeeling, Aurangabad and Kanpur. The expedition team comprises five officers and 13 airmen.

The aim of the expedition is to carry the message of 'Sadbhavana' and to create awareness of HIV among the people and the children in schools and colleges. The team will also visit schools and colleges to collect data through questionaires from the students about air force as a career.

The expedition was later flagged off by air commodore T N Venugopal, for its next destination.
