Delhi to host World Coal Congress in Dec

New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) Mining experts, engineers and environmentalists from around the world will attend the International Coal Congress here next month.

The participants will be discussing issues ranging from expanding role of coal in power generation to improving environmental and safety standards during the three-day conference from December 11.

Organised by the Institute of Engineers, ministries of coal, power, mines and steel along with Coal India, NTPC, SAIL and Neyveli Lignite Corporation, the theme of the congress is 'Sustainable Development of Coal for Energy Security'.

''Coal mining experts from more than 15 countries including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, China, France, Poland and Russia will present papers at the congress,'' said organising committee chairman S K Chowdhary.

A Coal Expo displaying state-of-the-art mining technologies is a highlight of the congress.
