CPI leader remanded to judicial custody in AP
Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 12 (UNI) A Magistrate's court in Palasa near here has remanded CPI State Secretary K Narayana to judicial custody till November 25.
Mr Narayana was arrested along with other party activists for attempting to plough a land allegedly held by a landlord yesterday.
Police registered a non-bailable offence case against Narayana and produced him before the Munsif Magistrate of Palasa court last night.
Later, Mr Narayana was taken to sub-jail in Srikakulam.
Yesterday, the agitationists demanded that 250 acres of land allegedly held by the landlord be given to farmers, who were cultivating it for the last 30 years.
