Chidambaram to open Indo-Arab economic meet
New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) Finance Minister P Chidambaram will inaugurate a two-day conference on Indo-Arab economic relations at the Vigyan Bhavan tomorrow.
The theme of the conference is ''Partnership in Development Between India and the Arab countries, said DR Mohammad Manzoor Alam, chairman of the Institute of Objective Studies, which is organising the meet dalong with the Indo-Arab Economic Cooperation Forum.
''Never have so many Arab government and business leaders come together in Delhi on a private initiative,'' Dr Alam said.
The organisers expect the conference to lead to enhancement of the level of economic cooperation between the two sides.
Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit are also among the prominent speakers besides former Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Dr Anwar Ibrahim and former Supreme Court Chief Justice A M Ahmadi.
Bahrain's Education Ministry consultant Dr Samil Q Fakhro and NASSCOM president Dr Kiran Kartik will attend the second day's proceedings at the India Islamic Cultural Centre.
