Centre's intervention on killings of Tamils in SL sought

Puducherry, Nov 13 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary V Narayansamy, MP, today sought immediate intervention of the Centre to put an end to the genocide of innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka.

Addressing a press conference here, he said innocent Tamils, particularly children were being killed in the fierce war between the Sri Lankan troops and the LTTE.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, through the External Affairs Ministry should intervene to put an end to the massacre in the island nation, he added.

He said members from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry would raise the issue in both Houses of Parliament during the winter session beginhing later this month.
