3 injured in firing by brother of Gondal MLA

Rajkot, Nov 12: Three persons were injured, two of them seriously, when the brother of Gondal MLA Jairajsinh Jadeja fired upon them at Bhunava village in Gondal taluka of Rajkot district last night.

According to rural police control room here, six rounds were fired by one Hardevsinh Jadeja from his licenced revolver.

Hardevsinh is a Vice-President of Gondal Taluka Panchayat and is the brother of Gondal MLA Jairajsinh Jadeja, the police control room said.

The incident took place at around 2115 hrs last night between the two groups of Garasia (Rajput) community over parking of a tractor in a private company.

Both the groups have tractors and are using their vehicles for transporting goods of a ginning factory in Gondal.

Two of the seriously injured were shifted to Rajkot civil hospital where the condition of one Sidhrajsinh Jadeja who received bullet injuries in his chest, is said to be 'critical'. He was later shifted to a private hospital.

Another victim Narendrasinh who sustained bullet injury in his eye, was operated upon late last night. His condition is also stated to be serious.

The third person, who received bullet injury in his leg, was admitted to Gondal hospital, control room said.

A police party rushed to the village. The situation in the village is tense but under control, the police said.

Complaints have been registered against five persons, the police said. However, no one was arrested so far.
