Vidisha, MP, Nov 11 (UNI) A Ganjabsauda town-based software engineer, Jagdish Dangi, has entered the Limca Book of Records, for developing first Hindi Internet Browser 'I-Browser + +'.

Mr Dangi told UNI that he had developed the browser in May at his home as a part of his pet project ''Bhasha Setu'' after completing graduation from Vidisha Engineering College in 2001.

The Limca Book of Records recognised his achievement after it received a formal entry in this regard. Mr Dangi received a letter from the Limca Books of Records yesterday.

The software is completely in Hindi with Devanagari as its script.

His project has been lauded nationally as well as internationally.

Born in a rural agricultural family, Mr Dangi said he had also developed 'Shabdakosh' -- Dictionary cum thesaurus (English to Hindi and vice-versa) -- and 'Anuvaadak' -- Global Word Translator (English to Hindi) -- as a part of his project.

At present, he was working on 'Saral Editor' software aimed at easier translation from one language to other.

Mr Dangi said he was a bit disheartened, as the Centre did not attach much importance to his work. He had discussed about his project with Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and received positive response. His work was also praised by government officials.
