Sirsa, Nov 11 (UNI) The president of state women cell and SP telecommunication department, Charu Bala, today reached here to look into the much-publicised complaints of woman SI Amarjit Kaur alleging sexual harassment by SP, Sultan Singh, Sirsa.

Ms Bala, accompanied by a DSP among others, said at the local PWD guest house that as the case was subjudice, she will entertain no queries from the journalists.

It was learnt that so far, the compainant has not presented herself before the inquiry team despite repeated messages. She was said to be not available at home.

SP Sultan Singh said he was informed by Ms Bala about the visit to meet the complainant personally but she had neither contacted him, nor was expected to do so, over the issue.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has already issued notices for December 18 to the state police chief along with the Haryana home secretary and Sultan Singh district police chief, Sirsa on the writ petition by SI Amarjit Kaur seeking registration of a criminal case and CBI probe into her sexual harassment at the hands of the SP.

Ms Kaur, who was posted in the women cell of Sirsa police, had alleged that for over three months now, she had been subjected to sexual harassment by SP, Sultan Singh and after she spoke to the media, she was placed under suspension.

The SP has stoutly denied the charges saying her allegations came after disciplinary action was taken against her when an inquiry found her guilty of misusing her position to extort money from innocent people.
