One more dengue death in AIIMS; Toll at 61 in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 11 (UNI) The dengue death toll in the capital has risen to 61 with one more patient succumbing to the viral disease at AIIMS.

Twenty-five-year-old Lakshmi, a resident of Gurgaon, died of dengue shock syndrome last night at the institute, an AIIMS spokesperson said.

As many as 20 fresh dengue cases were reported in the national capital during the past 24 hours, taking the total number of viral disease patients to 3,059, officials said.

Of the total number of cases 1,869 are from the capital.

In AIIMS, 5 more patients were admitted and 4 were discharged during the past 24 hours.

AIIMS Medical Superintendent Dr D K Sharma said the total number of dengue patients undergoing treatment in the hospital now stands at 52, he added.

The Central Zone, Shahdara(North) and Shahdara (South) continue to be the worst affected areas in Delhi.
